Usually when I tell people this they say “Cool! Wait. What is a health coach?”
So let’s just go ahead and address that first thing.
HEALTH COACHES ARE MASTERS OF HABIT CHANGE.
Let’s be real….when it comes to our health, most of us know what we SHOULD be doing, we just don’t do it. We want to make changes in our lives, but we get stuck in old habits. The road to optimal health seems too long and difficult, so a lot of us don’t even try. Many people think that in order to be healthy you also have to experience a great deal of misery (i.e. depriving yourself of your favorite foods, working out at the gym for 6 hours a day, or missing out on socializing with friends).
Let me tell you what, you do not need to be MISERABLE in order to be HEALTHY!!!
What if you found foods that made you feel amazing, gave you consistent energy throughout the day and tasted DELICIOUS? What if you didn’t feel the need to make yourself miserable on a treadmill for hours on end, but instead found movement that you actually enjoy? I can’t tell you how often I hear of moms doing everything under the sun for their families, but completely neglecting themselves (or actually feeling GUILTY for taking time for some self care!). Or of busy professionals feeling so stressed and overwhelmed by their jobs that they think there isn’t enough time in the day to take care of their own body. As a society, I think we’ve forgotten that taking care of ourselves is not only important -- it’s a necessity.
